Not guilty of four charges.
Now before I end this episode today, I would like to discuss one other charge that was laid against Craig in relation to C3 that needs to be discussed because of the extraordinary nature of how this charge was ever laid.
It is a charge that needs attention because of the astonishing claim that this assault had occurred.
This was one of the allegations that was presented to Craig in the initial email by journalists back in January of 2018.
But the police and the DPP were going to have a huge problem with this charge.
Because they didn't have a victim.
It turned out that C1 denied that such an assault ever took place.
You heard me correctly.
C1 did not say this assault occurred, not even to the press back in January 2018.
When she was asked about it, she said no such thing happened.
The press, knowing that C1 had not been assaulted in this way, still emailed this allegation to Craig, suggesting that indeed he had salaciously thrust into her back.
I ask you this, how could Craig be charged with indecent assault when there wasn't even a person who could claim it occurred?
In court, when C3 was questioned about this and crossed, she had to come clean and admit that Craig hadn't actually touched C1, that he was about two metres behind her and no physical contact was made.
Some months after the first part of the trial ended, this charge was thrown out of court.
So was there enough evidence to lay charges?
I think you know the answer to that.
And what of the credibility of C3
facts c3 lied to the police about the thrust having to admit craig hadn't laid a hand on c1's hip and that he hadn't even touched her c3 didn't ever disclose to police or the press that c1 had relentlessly bullied her throughout the rocky horror show of 2014 rather letting the bullying term be applied to craig
