I didn't take enough pitches for it to really matter.
There wasn't a first pitch that was close to the zone that I did not like.
So I'm taking my chances early on.
But, yeah, I'm sure there's some I can think of.
There's one I got tossed early.
in because we're getting beat pretty bad in fenway and it took the it took the home plate umpire forever to throw me out i said everything i could and he still wouldn't throw me out and then he finally turned me out and i said thank you uh and it was a breaking ball that was up and out of the zone so i probably would it depends i don't know i may have challenged on that day but but i might not have because i really wanted to just go in the duck go in the clubhouse
I think it's a good combination when it comes to... Like, Carlos and I had a relationship where I started off hitting behind him and then hitting in front of him for years.
It was just... I had an opportunity to...
run a lot when I got on base because he was hitting a lot of extra base sets and I got a chance to jog around the bases because of his ability to hit home runs.
I think for Carlos, it's hard for me to put anybody in his category.
Just because of his ability to hit for average, ability to drive and runs, ability to get on base.
It was special.
And I think Vladdy has a little bit of all three of us in him.
I mean, he can make contact, he can hit the ball out of the ballpark, and hopefully he's going to be doing that for a long time.
Yeah.
I don't think it's a day-to-day thing.
I think initially, yeah.
I mean, it plays a part into kind of the thought process, but...
You get paid because of what you've done and hopefully what you can do.
And the way our game is structured, you don't get that big payday until you're six years in the big leagues.
