First, put a couple of apples in the freezer. Just give it some time. Do your thing for a bit, okay? She'll thank me later. And now I wait! Music always passes the time. I'm knockin' you down, Mr. Apple! It's about time! How you doin' in there, apples? Yep, it's frozen, alright. Once it's defrosted, you'll notice it's a bit softer. That means it's time to start juicing!

Apple-cinnamon's my favorite combo. Especially when you use it to bake. Just a dash of milk. Oop, excuse me. This fresh pot's calling my name! Don't mind me, I'm just stirring away. Or rather, whisking away. Yeah! The coffee machine! This stuff really flies! How do I even clean this? It's too hot to touch! Which may have worked in my favor. It's like a little pancake griddle! Who knew?

Are We in a Recession? What the Data Says—and How to Protect Your Finances

845.425

Hi, Sean. My name is Vicky. I have an HSA for my employer. They were giving a 3% contribution. I matched and they recently stopped their contribution. So I am moving it over to Fidelity from the insurance company that holds the HSA. And I have to sell the stock at Health Equity, make it all cash before they will move it to Fidelity. And Fidelity told me that it could take up to four weeks.

I thought that I had 30 days to contribute that money back into a retirement account before I started to be penalized for selling it. If you could help me with anything on that, I would love it. I love your program. Thank you so much for all of the information. Have a great day. Bye.

Hi Sean, this is Vicky. I have a 401k eligible for my employer, but it's with an insurance company and they do not give a match. I read through the paperwork, and the insurance company that it's through can change their pricing, their fees at any time, and they don't even have to tell the customer about it.

Thea, Sam and Emily were all born within a few months of each other. As a result of our children being born and diagnosed with Down syndrome, we started to meet up.

1290.782

And obviously spending a lot of time with our team working with us, packing things away and putting it in a cupboard every week. So the idea of having our own building has always been an attractive one as we've grown. And it was something that we were very, very lucky and excited about.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1311.127

Yes. I mean, we literally run services from babies up to young adults, as Vicky said. But we have different services running on different days, different activities and clubs. It's where our preschool services run three days a week.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1355.393

So with our teenagers, I think, as Vicky said, a lot of the focus in what we're doing is on life skills and social skills. But we really would like to make sure we are fully integrated within our local community. And I think having our own building is part of that, being visible and being seen and our young people being seen.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1371.304

So ultimately, of course, we want our young people to go on to get jobs and be paid for their work and be part of their community. We've had young people doing work experience in restaurants and cafes. But each of our young people has their own skill set. what they would like to do for a paid job.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

At this stage for us, it's very much about equipping our young people with as much confidence and communication skills and life skills to be able to become as independent as possible.

social communication group for example for children at primary school the idea of having our own building was that it would enable us if possible to expand what we offer and that's all subject to funding of course we have to fundraise a lot to do that but we're really excited that this year we're launching two new services to add to everything else we already offer and this building gives us that space as well

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1475.161

We were very much about that in the early days of PSDS starting, saying geographically we wouldn't restrict membership. If families could travel to what we were offering, it's important to us that people get the services that they need.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

Yeah, we just wanted Down syndrome to be seen as not a big deal. So when our children were babies... That's a really nice way of putting that.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1590.539

When our children were babies, it was about, as Vicky said, PS, our children happen to have one extra chromosome. Siblings have always been incredibly important, as has the wider family. But it is about... It's not such a big deal.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1602.561

Yes, our young people need help and support, and we shouldn't shy away from that, but it is about having fun and making Down syndrome just part of who someone is, not what they are. But for our parents, it's a huge deal, right?

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1656.638

The building is here, obviously, all the time, so we don't fill it 24-7, seven days a week. We are very much open to members of the community coming

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1684.431

Yeah, absolutely. We've had a whole range of inquiries. We're actually also members of Reigate Business Guild because we want to be very much part of the community. So, you know, there's a lot that we can do here.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1731.189

PSDS is responsible for that and responsible for finding the funding. So, of course, if people would like to get involved in fundraising or make donations, we welcome that. But we're very proactive ourselves in raising funds, as is our membership of families.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1780.629

Absolutely, it's something that we're all very committed to for a very long time. We have amazing young people who just need a bit of extra support to be able to reach their full potential. We're very much about seeing our young people as individuals, and we believe every individual should have access to the same opportunities as their siblings, as their peers.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1798.619

We just recognise, because we know as parents, we see it firsthand, our young people just need some extra support to be able to achieve their full potential. We do it because we're parents supporting our own children. It's been our privilege to do that for the last 20 years, as Vicky said. It was never the intention when we first met, I doubt, to start a charity.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

I think I would have fallen off my chair in those early days where I was really struggling to come to terms with Thea's diagnosis, if I'm honest.

The Planet Reigate Podcast

77: The Reigate kids’ group with members from across the south-east… and more

1824.366

We do it because we know how important it is and what a difference it makes, primarily for our children and young people who have Down syndrome, but for their family as a whole, and particularly parents, as Vicky said, who are sometimes very startled and bewildered at that early time of the uncertainty of what this diagnosis might mean. If we can help at least one family

The Planet Reigate Podcast

to start you know really enjoying and just getting to know who their child is and seeing their ability and seeing that family and that child flourish that's why we do it.
