We've now shown with DNA that that's the case.

The more I learn about Irish bees and beekeepers and how natural we are and how non-intensive our apiculture is, natural selection has been operating here since Varroa came.

And as a result, because of the wild colonies in our area and because there's a lot of beekeepers who don't treat, they're surviving.

So yeah, I'm very proud of us in Ireland.

We have a really, really good situation.

Except there are challenges, there are threats.

We need to protect what we have before we lose it.
