I mean, yes and no.

My best friend absolutely knew she was going to be my bridesmaid from before I even had a husband lined up.

And we talked about that for ages.

But at no point did we ever talk about cost.

No, I don't think you would.

And I'm a money person.

At no point was I like, oh my God, like when you're my bridesmaid, ha ha ha, how cute's this dress?

Like conversations like that were happening before, but it was never like, ha ha ha, here's the dress I would get you to buy.

Yeah.

Like that's not the narrative, I don't think.

Like it was an exciting aspirational conversation.

Someone said, bride here, I paid for everything but the dress, but I only specified colour.

So I said I wanted a particular colour and they just needed a dress.

I think that's reasonable too.

Someone said, I've been in five bridal parties and all the brides expected less than $1,000 contribution from all of us.

Even $1,000, still spending $5,000 on other people's weddings.

Yeah.

Someone said being in a wedding party shouldn't cost you a cent.

Someone else said, I'm Irish.
