So I actually found that fascinating that we got to see him just being quite useless, to be honest, and revered and worshipped.
for no other reason than just kind of being the next one in line.
And I thought that was really interesting because you're not... I haven't read much fantasy, but the Chosen One usually has a bit more...
Yeah, to them, yeah.
It was a lot.
But I think I just kind of went with it.
I think when it comes to war stories and, you know, with the sort of intense violence you're introduced with when you start reading the book immediately, it wasn't too much of a shock for me.
It was just like, oh, this makes sense.
I guess they're going to do whatever they can.
Did you feel like it's kind of veered into horror territory?
Yeah, it's very grotesque.
There'd be one-liners about stuff that's happened and you'd just be like, what?
And then the story would just continue.
And I was like, it's just very, again, reminiscent of war.
Is it trying to make you feel a little bit like almost desensitized?
Yeah, I think I got more and more desensitized to it as I read it, which is not great.
But at the same time is maybe the point of it.
Like it's just a horrible, one horrible thing after another.
So nothing really surprised me because that's why I think I think you're just kind of thrown into it at the beginning that so much horrible stuff happens.
in those first, you know, that first part that after that, I was quite like, I'm pretty much prepared for anything.
