Like you said, Adelaide, it would be a very interesting experience to reread this whole book knowing what you know in a linear way.
of this book, but I still was quite shocked by the character of Kane and his ruthlessness in part one.
Because again, you're seeing it from her latest perspective.
And ironically, knowing that there is more, you know, there's more to Kane, and knowing that I would find that out eventually didn't downplay how awful he was to her.
Yeah.
No, yeah.
Yeah, and it's done in so many tiny, small moments that stick with you.
And then once you obviously read more, you are probably like, oh, my God, like this makes so much more sense.
Yeah.
Did you have any?
Well, no, because I kind of I knew the backstory.

There was a love story there as well.
And I knew these were the two characters.
So I also agree, Adelaide, that it'd be very interesting for someone who just picks up the book and reads it.
We will make this an experiment happen and we'll report back on the podcast.
Because they essentially feel like Helena, right?
Because it's like not knowing anything, this awful person who's holding you captive and then to finding out everything later.
How would you feel about that?
Well, I didn't realise it was a trope until this second.
