You should pursue this. But there was always this underlying tone of music just in my life. Me and my family, it was a ritual where it always... sit down at the end of the night and we would watch American Idol. And we'd always watch The Voice together and everything.

Is my life, looking back, like when you ask me a question like this and I have time to reflect on interviews and whatnot and think about it, it just shows to me that I always say the good Lord was just kind of pushing this towards me my entire life. And I was so hell bent and focused on lacrosse and sports my whole life because that's all I knew. And that's what my family background was.

I went through a pretty harsh bullying all through middle school. And then when I got to high school, day one of tryouts for my freshman year of lacrosse, they played the video over the intercom, the audio through the school during tryouts. People are brutal. They are. It's just tough. High school is tough.

Honestly, man, hindsight, I wouldn't go back and change a thing. And I dealt with it for four years. I had upperclassmen trying to get under my skin. I had upperclassmen trying to get to me because I was talented. I did work for it. I was gifted and it wasn't just given to me. I worked my tail off for it.
