And that was dangerous.
It was incendiary.
And I don't say this lightly.
this is the type of propaganda that is reminiscent of the 1930s and that is the choice for the country you can have a politics that is decent that is based on ideas and that is about hope and possibility or you can have a politics that is about rage is about division
and seeks to ferment and stir hatred to politically profit from it.
It is dangerous.
It is nationalistic.
And it has got to be beaten.
And that's why I think, actually, those of us who are progressives, who are not Conservative Party supporters or members, have a moral responsibility right now to be upstanders and to say the misrepresentation of Kemi Badenoch is a disgrace.
But together...
We, mainstream politicians, have to see off this existential threat to our country of English nationalism represented by Farage.
Nigel Farage is an English nationalist.
And nationalism is a dangerous...
and potent political force.
It's the same kind of propaganda.
So, you know, and I don't make that comparison lightly.
And that's why I don't level the charge of fascism lightly.
And I'm not saying Farage is a fascist, but I am saying he's an English nationalist.
Would you say that ad and the strategy of that ad?
It was certainly incitement to hatred and designed to actively mislead people that the black woman who leads the Conservative Party only cares about black lives and not white lives.
