In Ontario, founded in 1847, the all-girls school is highly regarded for its history and academics, and that one is still open.
But to avoid stolen valor, the actors in this movie worked with a military advisor named Lieutenant William T. Bates.
He ruled with an iron fist, apparently, and drilled them in boot camp style situations, often having them rehearse complicated rifle drill routines.
And I think, frankly, the authenticity worked watching the movie.
And since its release, this movie has gained a large queer following based on the relationship between the two female main characters in the movie.
A fact I don't get because I didn't see any chemistry between anyone in this film at all.
And the fact that the supposed love interest storyline is absolutely never taken seriously.
Keep that in mind when the rainbow blanket comes into play as well, though, because that's also an important thing.
By the way, if you're going to watch or listen to Magical Rewind today thinking, hey, Will's going to love Cadet Kelly.
I can tell you I didn't hate Cadet Kelly, but I certainly didn't love it.
How about we fight about stuff that makes no sense and just throw it in the movie and then that's the movie.
This DCOM has had some legs over the years, mostly thanks to its recognizable Y2K-friendly cast, and it drips of nostalgia, notably in the film's tagline, Too Cool for Rules.
But as I said, it is not too cool to stream.
