I don't know what you made of it, Ronan, or what you thought.
I hadn't seen Le Mignon Malle be political like this before.
I'll get more from Richard Fitzpatrick on it in our chat in a few moments time.
Other things to mention, there was an email in defence of Rashford and his Spanglish.
Which I agree with, to be fair, Stuart.
We were a little bit, you know, we were sneery.
But I defend them.
Who was the other person?
Oh, Conor.
You and Conor are really jumping up and down.
Conor is sneery at the best of times, to be fair.
I feel I need to come to the defense of Rashford and the lambasting he received from Joe for adopting Spanish mannerisms in a recent interview.
In my opinion, as a native English speaker living in the north of Spain, he should be applauded for...
ever so slightly modifying his English when speaking to non-native speakers of the language.
Now, he was speaking to a BBC English reporter, but I get it, you know, he's in character.
By using the present tense rather than the past and clipping the end of some words so they don't run together, it helps listeners no end when trying to understand English.
It shows a level of empathy
of Marcus that most of us from English-speaking countries don't possess when abroad will typically rock up to hotels and restaurants expecting the staff to speak our language, get annoyed when they don't understand what we're saying despite not having the awareness to modify our speech patterns as Rashford has done.
Moreover, I defy anyone who lives in a foreign country not to adopt a slightly foreign twang when speaking English to locals.
Joey Barton, Steve McLaren should be let off the hook.
