You know, the idea of we're kind of a smaller organism and a much bigger game here that's being played.
You know, if you read a ghost story, then there's,
To me, there's always the inherent kind of the things that align just out of your vision that you can't quite make out.
You'll never fully understand it, maybe.
I like stories that tend to, you're never quite sure what you just witnessed or experienced, but you know there's something more to it.
And it's kind of that innate sense of the mystery box that I think has such a power to it.
And that's to me where I think that line of thinking was leading with that, is that, you know, he's emerging into something.
It's like a shape-shifting creature, but...
it's something that we just don't know a lot about.
And I, and it's also that idea of beginning it in a certain way and tying it off in a neat little sort of burn away.
It's kind of, there's a cycle to it, but there could be more to explore as well over time, potentially.
And I think the best stories can often leave you wondering or wanting, you know, I want more of that.
I want to sort of explore more of that because it's, if it's just sort of something that's very small and self-contained, that can be nice.
But I like the idea of it being,
Yeah, I guess it's the idea of not really fully committing to what they are.
Because I think whenever I'm writing a story like this one, for instance, it started off basically as a mood piece, kind of an atmospheric kind of exploration of something.
And then as I began to fill out the details, I was like, well,
Maybe I, to some degree, don't know what it is myself in some way, but I'm okay with that because I like the mystery that it ends on.
And if I wanted to explore it more, I could expand upon what that creature is and sort of give it its own kind of mythology and so on.
But for me, I kind of just like the idea that maybe even I don't fully understand what it is, but I'm willing to kind of just sketch it out and leave it for further exploration if I wanted to attend, for instance.
