President Trump announced Tuesday that he is appointing Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William J. Pulte to be the acting director of national intelligence after Tulsi Gabbard's resignation last month.
Pulte, a staunch Trump ally with a reputation for aggressive institutional cleanups,
will maintain his current role leading the Federal Housing Finance Agency and overseeing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Pulte is known in D.C.
