I loved how he said he's discovering something that he has inside of himself and
a level of endurance and toughness and physicality that he frankly didn't even know he had and he wants to feel it over and over again because that's what it takes, particularly when you're 7'5 and people's default against you is going to be, we're going to just beat you up.
I love the emotional reaction.
I love every time he cries.
I don't care about it.
In fact, you know what I thought about, Mo?
Remember that it was like seven or eight years ago at the Women's Final Four when Gino Auriemma had his infamous just like, I'm going to get on my soapbox and talk about how
I want players who try really hard all the time and are legitimately happy.
And he talked about how trying hard and giving full effort has kind of become like uncool in some circles.
And like to the point that try hard has become an insult.
Like, oh, he's just a try hard guy.
And trying hard looks ugly sometimes.
Like when you're chugging at full speed, full effort, like you're going to make funny faces.
Your body's going to do funny stuff.
You're going to like fall and fail.
And it's going to be embarrassing sometimes.
It's even like...
I can see my daughter and her friends going through this when they play sports.
And I try to tell her, like, trying really hard is a really cool thing.
Like, it's a cool thing to do.
