She started her career in finance with Symantec and Apple before working in business development at Nest. Her work with Nest built up her interest in the real estate industry, and she received an angel investment directly out of business school to start Hemlane. After Dana started to invest in rental properties more than a decade ago, she noticed that there was a massive hole in the market. As a landlord, you could either manage everything yourself, or pay someone else to manage it for you. There was no middle ground.
