Holbein - der Raffael des Nordens - seine Bilder sind wunderschön und begehrt. Und so kam um 1635 ein Kaufmann auf die Idee: Doppeltes Bild, doppelter Gewinn und ließ eine Kopie anfertigen. Im 19. Jahrhundert hing eine Madonna in Dresden und eine in Darmstadt, als erste Zweifel an der Echtheit eines der Bilder aufkamen. Doch wer hat nun das Original? 1871 gab es dann die Entscheidung.
