Chapter 1: What happened in the murder of Karen Tipton?

950.287 - 951.388 David Tipton

I understand that.

0

951.408 - 966.281 Investigator Mike Mayhew

Police saw the stabbing incident as confirmation of Moore's guilt. And that was even before investigators discovered a link between Moore and the Tiptons. How would you describe Karen Tipton?

0

966.321 - 968.463 David Tipton

Middle-aged. I mean, she seemed nice.

0

969.27 - 985.363 Investigator Mike Mayhew

As it turns out, Moore had worked for a security company that had installed the alarm system at the Tipton House. David Tipton speculates Karen may have allowed Moore in because she recognized him. How did you think it happened?

0

985.423 - 994.691 Defense Attorney Linda Parisi

He came and knocked on the door and said, hello, I work for the alarm company. He had been there just a few months before. He lied his way in the house.

999.051 - 1008.416 Investigator Mike Mayhew

The attack, Tipton says, continued upstairs in the bedroom, where police found Karens clothing on the floor and blood on the bed.

1008.536 - 1032.778 Defense Attorney Linda Parisi

1038.933 - 1046.394 Defense Attorney Linda Parisi

Chapter 2: Who is Daniel Wade Moore and what was his conviction?

1246.169 - 1264.134 Judge

0

1265.459 - 1272.782 Investigator Mike Mayhew

At the end of the first trial, Moore's uncle was hopeful until he saw the jury file in with the verdict.

0

1272.802 - 1282.165 Kaylin Moore

They just came in, you know, one of them was crying and I pretty much knew when I saw that, that this was going to be something bad.

0

1284.104 - 1303.704 Investigator Mike Mayhew

0

1303.724 - 1305.325 Judge

Sie lachen. Sie lachen.

1314.404 - 1328.746 David Tipton

I was 250 foot from the execution chamber. Locked in a 5 foot by 9 foot cell.

1328.826 - 1336.308 Investigator Mike Mayhew

In February of 2003, Daniel Wade Moore became the newest inmate on Alabama's death row.

1336.328 - 1343.349 Sherman Powell

There's things that he's more afraid of than death, I can assure you. Which is? Being accused of something he did not do.

1344.588 - 1366.504 Investigator Mike Mayhew

Sherman Powell immediately began working on Moore's appeal. What happened next changed the Moore case forever. Prosecutors turned over this 245-page report compiled by the FBI on the Tipton murder. An FBI report that prosecutors had repeatedly denied existed.
