In a recent development, the Cricket board of Scotland resigned over allegations of institutional racism. While it is easy to point the finger at someone, it is cathartic to introspect first. Have you not witnessed an irate customer giving a mouthful to the server at a restaurant as he owned not just the restaurant but also the waiter serving him? Have you not witnessed a domestic helper being yelled at home? There are horror stories about how domestic helpers are mistreated by their employers. So you've heard about it, know about it, and now you want to do something about it. So, where do you begin? Yes, you guessed it right, it begins with you. At home, at a restaurant, or any other place where you are interacting with someone serving you. How do you change your behavior? What if it is your parent? How do you make them change? Tune into this episode, where I share two ways to begin sensitizing people around you about discrimination and abuse of power. Educate them, enable them and or stop them even if you find instances of abuse at your own home.
