Cillian Murphy's Oppenheimer Accent w/ Coach William Conacher

Do you take accents in movies for granted? Dialect coaching is a whole career, and I get to talk to William Conacher about his 28 years of experience, including coaching the idiolects of real people. Actors he has coached to recreate specific people's voices include: 4 separate Princess Dianas, Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody, and now Cillian Murphy for J. Robert Oppenheimer.The real Oppenheimer had a privileged education in New York City and spoke with an accent known as Mid-Atlantic (somewhere between British and American accents). That accent has less R coloring (less pronunciation of Rs) more T pronunciation, particular words that marked the accent.Besides that, specific words can mark an accent, or an idiolect. Oppeneimer always said 'nuclear' with a Y (like my grandmother)You can hear how William's process has been formed over many years.
