Anansi is an Akan mythic being and cultural icon of Western Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas. We go over his two most famous stories, his gender fluidity and general liminality, and his important cultural role in the Asante culture and later in Jamaica. Come learn about this trickster god and the legacy he has today in modern comics and culture. *Trigger warnings* We do talk about the enslavement of African people and the things people had to do to survive on Jamaican plantations in relation to Anansi's influence in these areas.
