REFUSING SPECIAL EDUCATION is an episode with our special guest MARQUISE CORMIER, an author, public speaker, musical artist and fashion designer, Marquise was diagnosed with ADHD at age 7 and with the help of his grandmother who raised him they refused the ADHD label and the special ed that was recommended to them. Instead, Marquise's Grandmother decided to put him into a school for gifted children. Marquise published his first book at age 7 and the rest is history... This is the seventh episode of our new podcast on ADHD that my wife Tatiana and I have created in order to present parents with an alternative conversation around this so-called 'disorder'. Our own son Khai was diagnosed at the age of 7 and we decided to trust our gut feeling (you can call it intuition) to not accept this confidence-damaging label and to not medicate our son... even though his teacher and the principal of the school he was attending at the time suggested we do both in order to make sure he wouldn't end up a druggie or in prison. Listen in and feel for yourself. If you're on the fence whether to medicate your child or not, this podcast is definitely for you. There is nothing 'wrong' with your child. Your son or daughter is not broken. As a matter of fact, in this podcast, we explore the possibility that children on the spectrum might actually be here to tell us something.
