#15: Carbon Credits: The Results Are In With Dr Terry McCosker

Today’s guest is Dr Terry McCosker. Terry and I are discussing what a Carbon Credit actually is and how they have the potential to substantially improve the overall profitability and sustainability of some farming operations, resulting in a magnification of a family’s wealth both now and intergenerationally.The most exciting part is we are discussing the initial findings of one of the world’s largest Carbon Credit trials which Terry has been integrally involved in. Terry is a Founding Director of RCS Australia which for over 35 years has provided integrated training, education and advisory service to the agricultural sector. He is an internationally acclaimed teacher and has worked in research and property management in both the government and private sectors for almost 55 years.It has been said his ideas took farming out of a war with nature into an association with it. He introduced Australian farmers to the concept of ecosystem health and developed methods of measuring it, alongside financial health. Terry has more recently focused his attention on using his experience, education and expertise to assist the farming community to identify and make the most of the opportunities carbon credits could offer.
