AI is advancing faster than regulations, raising urgent questions about ethics, accountability, and fairness. Does AI make us freer—or are the lack of ethical guardrails simply making our society more vulnerable to control by tech giants?Should AI systems have workers rights’? If they replace humans, do they deserve protections too? Daniel Popovski: Daniel is a trained economist, leading the risk and technology policy portfolio at the Governance Institute of Australia. He has contributed to the Commonwealth Digital economy strategy, co-authored Governance Institute and National AI Centre’s AI governance and ethics white paper and sits on the AI technical standards committee to the International Standards Organisation and Standards Australia. He was awarded the Norton Rose Fullbright Prize for first place in cyber law. Paul Wilson: Paul works at the intersection of AI, machine learning, and the evolving science of knowledge systems. As a data scientist and knowledge architect, he helps peopleand organisations turn complex information into clear, scalable solutions that support better decisions and real-world outcomes. Through work with Knowledge Patterns and select research partners, Paul leads advanced projects thatblend AI, ICT, mathematics, systems thinking, and organisational design.
