#28: Beyond Ethical Principles in AI with Matthew Newman
08 Dec 2020
"Even if we don't get to that stage of AGI, it is absolutely probable that we will get to the point where there is enough complexity in some of these AI systems which can have an ongoing and profound effect on people's lives" — Matthew Newman Matthew is a global leader in the operationalisation of AI Ethics and responsible use of frontier technology. He is founder and CEO of TechInnocens, a consultancy that provides practical advisory to C-suite, board and AI-leadership on embracing trusted-use; as well as a member of The Cantellus Group, an innovative boutique consulting group helping business and policy leaders harness the opportunities, new risks and trade-offs with AI and other frontier technologies. Matthew has over 20 years experience of advising leadership teams on technology-driven transformation at some of the world's most respected enterprises, as well as start-ups, SMEs and government organisations. He engages with the World Economic Forum's Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Platform, co-develops standards for Ethical-use of AI at the IEEE and is a member of the Global Governance of AI Roundtable.
