We stand on the brink of a technological revolution, the Fourth Industrial Revolution. What are knowledge-intensive organisations doing differently In this conversation, we investigate the case of the Australian Centres of Research Excellence and what we can learn from them in the innovation space. This is one of the very promising alternatives that governments are looking at. How new technologies, such as artificial intelligence can be used and further developed to meet greater goals in society. — Fabiana Barros Fabiana has been recently awarded her PhD from the University of Melbourne where she investigated the organisational capacity of Centres of Research Excellence in Australia. During the past years she has been working at the LH Martin Institute (of the same university) focusing on Research and Innovation Policy and Management. Prior to that she has worked for many years in Europe as a project manager and fundraiser for international scientific projects involving European universities and research centres. She was a trainee at the European Comission in Luxembourg. She has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master's degree in the field of Higher Education Policy and Management.
