Apply to join the next AI Workshop Kit cohort: https://newsletter.aiwithkyle.com/c/workshop-kit This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 8 October 2025 Summary: Right, so it's been a relatively quiet day in AI land which is saying something because we've still got Anthropic preparing to launch Claude Code on mobile (terrifying for my work-life balance, brilliant for productivity), Google expanding Opal to 15 more countries, and someone doing the detective work to figure out which companies are absolutely hammering OpenAI's API. Turns out Duolingo, Salesforce, and Shopify are up there, though the original analysis got the ranking a bit wrong because it was alphabetised by token usage tiers. The other big story is Robin Williams' daughter having to publicly ask people to stop sending her AI-generated videos of her late father, which is honestly just grim. It's that classic pattern we see with every new model release, they leave it unrestricted for about a week to go viral, everyone creates deepfakes of celebrities and cartoon characters, then they flip the switch and add restrictions once they've owned the news cycle (and traffic). OpenAI are now talking about licensed content and revenue sharing with the likes of Disney, which is probably where this was headed all along.
