This was the question that prompted me to make this video, and explain in detail:1. How you can become a professional athlete2. How I would go about becoming a professional athlete if I had to start today?3. Specifically, how I became a professional athleteIf you want to turn your passion into a profession, think about how it would feel and how typical days would be. If you got to do what you now do as a hobby, on a full-time basis;Would you get fed up? Could you handle the pressure? Could you sustain the repetitive nature of training? Would you have to change friends? How would life change? For me, it was a simple choice, but many people around me thought that my "leap of faith" was actually quite crazy and irrational, given my starting point and the fact that I had a good career already in something else.I would also encourage anyone to follow their passion as far as they can. You are lucky to have found your passion; many don't. Most people go to work for the pay cheque and look forward to retirement. It doesn't have to be that way but if you're serious about turning that initial idea, motivation, and drive into reality - you're going to need a plan. In the video, I talk you through this, and it doesn't just apply to running but to any career change or change of situation. Make a plan, have a clear strategy, give yourself the right amount of time to execute, jump into it and make it happen. You are not who you were yesterday.
