This week’s guest is Melissa Kariuki, the Founder & CEO of Whip Music Africa, a company aimed at democratizing music opportunities and championing accessibility in the music industry, which is backed by Google for Startups, M Accelerator Los Angeles and Greenhouse Labs. Melissa is originally in Kenya and grew up in South Africa. Prior to becoming a Tech Entrepreneur, she was an Associate Product Marketing Manager at Google South Africa. She has also worked across Asia, Europe, the US and Africa at a variety of organizations including Bain & Company, H&M, the Gates Foundation and INSEAD. She graduated with a First Class Honors from the African Leadership University in Mauritius. Furthermore, Melissa completed her Masters of Management Science in Global Affairs as a Patrice Motsepe Fellow and Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University, where she was awarded a 99% for her Master's thesis on Blockchain, NFTs and Web 3 adoption and regulation.
