Feeling burnt out? ... But that you don't have enough time to take care of yourself... In this episode, Dr. Becc and Kristeen Barker debunk the myth that self-care has to take a lot of time. They’ll share some self-care that you can easily incorporate into your day to boost your energy and well-being.... AND get you more time back. Dr. Becc and Kristeen Barker acknowledge the challenges that doctors face in finding time for self-care. They discuss two unconventional and controversial self-care practices that can be powerful, bold changes: 1️⃣ Ditching the news: Exposing yourself to constant distressing news can be a powerful, insidious drain your energy. It is a privilege to be able to simply 'shut off' from the terrors of human life both locally and globally. If you find that watching the news is helping you make changes in the world, please continue. But if it is draining your energy without moving you to action, it's time to start valuing your energy. 2️⃣ Evaluating the close-circle energy vampires in your life: Not everyone is good for your well-being. It’s okay to distance yourself from people who drain your energy. If you're someone who values making an impact in the world, it's all about looking at if net-good is created from your choices. The hosts acknowledge that these practices can be controversial, but they encourage listeners to consider the overall net impact of their choices and, make sure they actually factor themselves into that equation. Let Kristeen and Becc know your thoughts! We are open as always to your perspectives and different opinions 💌
