Denetra Hampton has led a self-described life of divine intervention. A chance encounter with a navy recruiter led to a 15 year career in Naval Intelligence Information Systems. Encouraged to pursue officer training, Denetra chose nursing and served the rest of her career as an officer in the Navy Nurse Corps. Upon return to civilian life, she stumbled upon a lecture that inspired her to become, of all things, a film maker. Today, we talk to Denetra about her naval career, her passion for nursing science, and the importance of telling stories that need to be heard.
