At least 11 people are now confirmed dead due to the wildfires ravaging the Los Angeles area. More than 10,000 structures are destroyed and 100,000 people are under evacuation orders, the sheriff’s department said Friday, with tens of thousands more under warnings. California Governor Gavin Newsom is now calling for an independent investigation into what caused some hydrants to lose water pressure during the height of this week’s firefights.
