Trump asks Supreme Court for absolute immunity on election charges

20 Mar 2024

Description

Former President Trump has urged the Supreme Court to rule that he has absolute immunity from prosecution in the special counsel’s 2020 election subversion case. Trump’s legal team said in a brief, that future presidents could be vulnerable to "de facto blackmail and extortion while in office" if the justices don’t rule in his favor. The high court is scheduled to hear oral arguments on April 25. New York Times senior political correspondent Maggie Haberman, former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger and former federal prosecutor Jennifer Rodgers discuss the case with Anderson. Plus, controversy continues to build after new video of Kate, the Princess of Wales, surfaces showing her and Prince William at a farmer's market. Max Foster joins AC360 to discuss the lack of information coming from the Palace, and the rumors spiraling out of control online.  Learn more about your ad choices.
