WNBA star Brittney Griner released from Russian detention

WNBA star is heading home after she was released from Russian detention in a prisoner swap for convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout. Griner has been in a Russian jail for nearly ten months. Her wife, Cherelle Griner, thanked President Biden and said the “most important emotion” she has right now is “just sincere gratitude.” John Kirby is the White House National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications.
