Animal Training Academy: Making Ripples
[Episode 17] Dr Lucy Scott - Veterinary Behaviour Services NZ
03 Feb 2022
Lucy graduated from Massey University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. She spent six years practising as a mixed-animal veterinarian, working with everything from sheep and cattle to cats and dogs. Not long after graduating, she went to a clinic on positive reinforcement in horses and started incorporating R+ with her horses and animals. This spread to consuming every piece of information she could read on animal behaviour and training! In June this year, she gained membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Behaviour. Veterinary Behaviour Services NZ was born in September 2020, and Lucy is now working two days a week as a vet while building up the business in Waikato, NZ. She isn't sure what hat she wears some days, behaviour consultant, vet, or trainer, which suits her well!
