What disconnects us from our higher-self and guides?

Our negative emotions are very dense and heavy, so naturally when humans are going through a low period and feeling negative emotions, we get disconnected from the higher frequencies.  Our human vessel which is the container of these emotions, gets filled with dense and heavy energy, which blocks us from allowing the higher frequencies to come through. This means our guides, higher self and loved ones from the other side can not connect to us while in that low-vibrational energy.
