273. Ink Master Winner DJ Tambe

This week’s episode features Las Vegas tattoo artist DJ Tambe. DJ currently has thousands of people on his waiting list and charges premium rates for his tattoo services. Today we chat about the benefits of putting yourself in the public eye in order to grow your art business and the hesitations that come with it. We all want to lock ourselves in our studio and create all day but it’s what we showcase outside of those walls that makes customers come knocking.Talking with DJ made me realize how many similarities there are in building a business with a paint brush versus a tattoo gun. It’s the same in that you start by practicing to enhance a skill then get to networking to build a portfolio. Then it’s all about word of mouth and promotion to go up from there.This interview is a fun look into the backstory of a very successful yet humble artist who has recently hit it big!
