RECOGNIZING AUTISM IN YOURSELF - [HOW-TO]

10 May 2021

Description

DISCLAIMER: I am no medical doctor, I'm just your normal Jo Bloggs who's sharing her lived experiences with Autism that was called Aspergers.  If you see any warning signs/symptoms that may be related to any of the topics I share as of in the future, please seek a second opinion or treatment with a  medical professional. What I share with you in how I go about managing my autism will vary from person to person and that what may work for me, may not work for you and what will work for you may not work for me and vice versa. So, please be considerate while I give you all my advice and/or tips. Autism is an inborn, lifelong disability that affects different people in different ways.  While toddlers can be diagnosed autistic, sometimes the signs aren't obvious right away, or they aren't understood. This means that some autistic people go undiagnosed until their adolescence or adulthood.  If you've often felt different but never understood why it's possible that you could be on the autistic spectrum. In this podcast, this will be broken down into four parts to gain a better understanding and hopefully be easier to navigate through to what I am sharing with you all today. The parts are as follows: Part 1 Observing General Characteristics, Part 2: Scouring the internet, part 3: Confronting your misconceptions, and lastly part 4: consulting people you know. Let's begin this now, shall we? *ABOUT ME* Hello, I'm Aspie Answers from NZ.I have Aspergers Syndrome that is now clinically known in the DSM5 Manual of Diagnostics as Autism.  I make videos as an advocate on autism and mental health from the perspective of an autistic adult.
