Send us a textLearn about Australia's rich culture here on the Aussie English podcast! In this episode of The Goss, I talk to my dad about the incredible life of Bennelong.Woollarawarre Bennelong is an Aboriginal Australian who served as an interlocutor -- someone who informally explains the views of a government and also can relay messages back to a government. This remarkable Australian was one of the first native Australians to learn English, and as such, served as a bridge between Europeans and Aboriginal Australians. There was also a story that he was going to meet King George III at some point. Imagine wearing very different clothes, getting into a very big boat, and leaving your home to meet someone from the other side of the world.Imagine how valiant he must have been to do all this! Have you considered moving to another country which is very different from where you grew up? Tell me about it!
