Our guest Nate Wilbourne this week has always been one with nature, it has been his norm. At the age of eight he planted his first tree which got him thinking about being a kaitaki for a place that he has a passion for, the land. This has led him to a journey that has seen him involved in a large number of organisations that are all focused on nature conservation as well as being an advocate and an activist in this space. In this episode we speak about being a young person trying to balance school, work and his passion. We talk about being a semi-finalist for the Impact Awards. We have a few moments of laughter about the bird of century competition this year, an event that is close to Nate through his work with Forest and Bird. Nate speaks about the work he does with an organisation that gives him a sense of purpose everyday, the HealthPost Nature Trust in Mohua Golden Bay. Nate juggles a number of roles and passions which we try to speak about in this episode. His wisdom for our Basket of Knowledge is one that each one of us can take into our everyday lives.
