An experiment called LUX, in South Dakota is about to be switched on that offers the best hope yet of detecting dark matter - a substance thought to make up a quarter of the Universe, yet one that nobody has ever seen. Participants' brain scans revealed that artists had increased grey matter in areas relating to fine motor movements and visual imagery.
