Lessons from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. The Prophet is a collection of 26 prose poetry fables that deal with love, children, friendship, freedom, charity, time and death. The Prophet is one of the most translated books. Kahlil Gibran was a Lebanese-American writer, poet, and artist. He was born in 1883 in Bsharri, a village in northern Lebanon. He wrote in both Arabic and English, and his works reflect his influences from various spiritual and philosophical traditions.
