Directed by Art Manke and designed by Lindsay Jones, Amy Freed’s translation of “The Taming of the Shrew” pits the two smartest people in the room against each other in a match of wits to tame the society that surrounds them.  Set in Renaissance Italy with a cast of seasoned pros including Allen Gilmore, Susannah Rogers, Danny Scheie, Annie Abrams, Mike McShane, Rob Nagle, Tessa Auberjonois, Kasey Mahaffy, Kyle Hester, Tom Patterson and J.Paul Boehmer. When the wealthy Baptista announces that he will not marry off his beautiful young daughter, Bianca, until he finds a husband for his temperamental eldest daughter, Katherina, Bianca’s suitors welcome the arrival of the overly confident Petruchio, who has come to Padua to find himself a wife with money. The PLAY ON PODCAST SERIES, “THE TAMING OF THE SHREW”, was written by WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE and translated into modern English verse by AMY FREED. All episodes were directed by ART MANKE.
