Welcome to Before Breakfast, a production of iHeart Radio. Good morning. This is Laura. Welcome to the Before Breakfast podcast. Today's tip is that meaningful moments often include a special experience and a special companion. Think where plus who for truly making memories.
If you've been listening to this podcast for a while, you know that I am always recommending doing one big adventure and one little adventure each week. I find this is a good cadence that lets you maintain good routines, but make memories. This isn't a week just like any other. This is the week I went to see the roses at the botanical garden.
Having adventures also helps us develop identities as people who do cool things. It is absolutely possible to do adventures on your own. If you've got an adventure in mind and don't have someone readily available to do it with you, don't let that stop you. But if you have an adventure in mind, you can make the experience slightly more memorable by bringing someone along.
the botanical garden with a friend, or with that new colleague is going to be a different memory than that trip solo, and can offer the chance for making the memory even more special. I am a big fan of bringing people along for many reasons, one of which is efficiency.
Many of us would like to spend more time with friends and family members, and so it's good not to have to find time for adventures and people when the two can be combined. Adventures also become more memorable with another person because you can talk about the adventure while it is happening and then you can reflect on it with the person later.
When you and your new colleague are talking about your lunchtime trip to the botanical garden before your next staff meeting and are recounting your favorite roses, it is going to make that experience feel bigger in your mind. You didn't just experience it once. you're experiencing some of it again in the retelling.
Now, obviously, some people are more intuitively social than others and are always thinking about where plus who. But there are a few ways to nudge yourself to add a who to your adventures. One is to buy an extra ticket, which can then force yourself to pass it along. I have done this with concerts.
I can always try to drag my husband or a kid, but it can also nudge me to tell people I have an extra spot if they want to go. Guest passes are good, too, because it makes it more frictionless to bring someone along. You can also decide to do adventures when you know that other people might be doing them.

Chapter 2: What is the main idea behind combining experiences with companions?
If a friend will be in a different location for a while, you could offer to go visit them there. That would be an adventure. If a friend posts that they will be at an event on social media, post that you will go too, and see if anyone else in the comments wants to join you.
When you pair friends and family with an appealing event or experience, you get more time with friends and you tend to enjoy the event more than you would if your loved ones weren't there. So think where plus who and any given event might just be more fun. In the meantime, this is Laura. Thanks for listening. And here's to making the most Thanks for listening to Before Breakfast.

There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. People, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Krivak and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grave.
