Born in the year 1911, Faiz Saab hails from Sialkot, Punjab. Right after the completetion of his Alma mater; Faiz saab got his creation ‘Naqsh-e-Faryadi’ published which took the world into another realm. The world knows him as an army officer author, communist, teacher and a revolutionary poet who wrote about almost everything that the world needs. Faiz's early runes had been conventional, light- hearted discourses on love and beauty but later he started progressive poetry. In the year 1941 Faiz wrote a lyric that impeccably embodies the spirit of the Progressive Movement: Speak—your lips are free. Speak—your tongue and your upright body Are still yours. Speak—your life is still yours.
