Bitcoin for Millennials

Keith Laska: Bitcoin is a peaceful resistance | BFM061

04 Jul 2024

Description

Keith Laska is a Professor of Bitcoin at Fordham University in New York. He is passionate about Bitcoin but got frustrated by the lack of high-quality, easy-to-understand education. To understand Bitcoin, he spent thousands of hours on YouTube, social media, books, and attending conferences. Keith concluded that Bitcoin is a once-in-a-generation money transformation, and most people won't understand it until it's too late. So he put a team of passionate Bitcoiners together and launched Learn Bitcoin, a Bitcoin Education Network. → Follow Keith on https://x.com/keithlaska → Keith’s Bitcoin Education Network: https://learnbitcoin.io 🔔 Subscribe to never miss an upcoming episode of Bitcoin for Millennials → YouTube: https://youtube.com/@bramk → Follow Bram on https://x.com/bramk Timestamps 00:00 - Introduction and Background 02:35 - Keith's Journey into Bitcoin 05:17 - Bitcoin as a Currency of Peaceful Resistance 08:05 - Questioning Trust in Institutions 11:54 - The Flaws of the Current Monetary System 16:35 - The Power Shift to the People 22:50 - The Adoption of Bitcoin by Institutions 25:43 - The Importance of Securing Your Bitcoin 28:58 - Financial Advisors and Wealth Managers' Interest in Bitcoin 32:28 - Encouraging Self-Reflection and Questioning 36:02 - The Need for Individual Leadership 40:10 - Investing in Bitcoin through Retirement Accounts 44:29 - Financial Advisors' Concerns about Money Printing and Inflation 46:35 - Bitcoin as a Savings Technology 53:52 - Bitcoin: The Millennials' S&P 500 56:29 - The Importance of Low Time Preference 01:19:48 - Prioritizing Family and Quality Time
