Description

"What are my passions? What would I do for free?" - Cordney McClain, Poet, Financial Educator From corporate America to the classroom, Cordney McClain (Founder, www.macwoodsink.com, IG: @mac_since1985) walks us through his dynamic career. Through his experiences in banking, the oil field, car sales, the military, he was able to realize his passion, and used it to find his happy place in education. Starting as a volunteer, Cordney combined his interests in performance art, financial literacy and community outreach to build a career in higher education as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Founder at Brothers 4 Progress, member of Poetic City, as well as being a published author. The debt of education, the cost of entrepreneurship, and the time it takes to establish connections are all on the table. Tune in as we discuss mentorship and visibility, the ocean of whiteness at PWIs, the role of class and race in education, and giving cheat codes to the next generation. Keep Dreaming!
