News when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Ed Kalangi. Israel will soon halt or slow humanitarian aid into parts of northern Gaza as it expands its military offensive against Hamas. An official said this Saturday, a day after Gaza City was declared a combat zone.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to speak to the media, told the Associated Press that Israel will stop airdrops over Gaza City in the coming days.

This according to the statement carried by Houthi-run Al-Mazira TV.
The Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday it precisely struck a Houthi military target in Yemen's capital after UAVs were launched from Yemen toward Israel. Several other ministries were injured in the strike and are getting medical treatment. The statement added this, noting that the government will continue to provide its services and carry out its operations.
The former Speaker of Ukraine's parliament, Andrei Paruby, has been shot and killed in Ukraine. Bloomberg's Russian editor Greg Sullivan calls the murder in broad daylight of a prominent anti-Russian politician in a western city in Ukraine shocking. There's a lot of shock in Ukraine. The killing was definitely brazen and unusual.
We heard from President Volodymyr Zelensky, he called it a horrendous murder. So very unexpected. I'm It sort of came out of nowhere. This official was obviously, he used to be in parliament and he used to be the speaker of Ukraine's parliament. But more importantly, he was one of the leaders of the Maidan protests.
If you remember those protests, they started in 2013, carried on into 2014, and eventually forced the ouster of the then pro-Russian Viktor Yanukovych. He was the president at the time.
And shortly thereafter, that was, of course, when President Putin annexed illegally the Crimean Peninsula and sparked the conflict in eastern Ukraine, which today has expanded, obviously, into the full-scale invasion. Bloomberg's Greg Sullivan reporting.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order Saturday aimed at banning federal law enforcement officers from wearing masks or disguises as he tries to head off a threat from President Trump to expand his crime crackdown to the city. Trump has called the Democratic-run city a mess and threatened to send in the National Guard as he did in Washington, D.C.
