Chapter 2: What recent actions did President Trump take regarding Portland?
A government shutdown could have ripple effects beyond Washington. Bloomberg's Nathan Hager has more on one potential impact.
The U.S. Travel Association says a shutdown could cost the travel industry a billion dollars a week. The industry group sent a letter to congressional leaders from both parties warning that a lapse in federal funds would make staffing shortages worse at TSA and air traffic control, leading to longer lines, flight delays and cancellations.
The group cited an Ipsos survey that found 6 in 10 Americans would cancel air trips in a shutdown. The group says that could threaten economic growth in every state. Nathan Hager, Bloomberg Radio.

As leases on Ford F-150 Lightnings and Toyota BZ4Xs expire,
And get this, CarEdge says in some cases, like with Toyota's RAV4, the electric version can sell for almost $7,000 less than the gas-burning model. Denise Pellegrini, Bloomberg Radio.

The retailer declined to identify the provider, saying it was an ongoing criminal investigation. At the Ryder Cup after Saturday's action, Europe leads the U.S. 11.5 to 4.5. That's news when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Ed Kalecki. This is Bloomberg.
