Nick Hanson: MLB 3rd Round Draft Pick, Pro Baseball Life, Injuries, Adversity (Destiny)

26 Dec 2019

Description

Nick Hanson is a Professional Baseball player in the Cincinnati Reds organization, a pitcher drafted in the third round of the MLB Draft, directly out of high school. Nick has dealt with a considerable amount of adversity in his short MLB career. He had one of the worst injuries a pitcher can have early in his first year, and has had three more since. He shares experiences in the minor leagues, dealing with adversity, and overcoming adversity. Intro and behind the scenes of being a third round pick. (0:00-4:48) Arriving to the Minor Leagues at such a young age. (4:49-9:55) Dealing with four injuries including Tommy John (worst injury for a pitcher), rehabilitating from an injury only to get hurt again, contemplating retirement and what he learned. (9:56-19:55) Keeping his eyes on the prize, mental toughness, growing as a person through adversity and the power of positivity. (19:56-30:32) Discovering stronger faith, biggest lesson he learned, journaling and connecting with the community. (30:33-39:37) Nick's Notes ~ I had a great time with Nick at the bar and then when we recorded. The amount of crap he has gone through at such a young age, and to still keep fighting - I love it. His maturity and wisdom gained from the lows is very noticeable. I love his mindset and how he sees things now, it is very inspiring. Nick gives off amazing energy, and I am glad we came across each other at the hometown bar.. some may say it was synchro-destiny!
