Doctor Who Time and the Rani by Pip Baker

These excerpts chronicle the early adventure of the newly-regenerated and amnesiac Seventh Doctor, who has been captured by his brilliant nemesis, the Rani, on the desolate planet Lakertya. Aided by grotesque alien mercenaries called the Tetraps, the Rani is utilizing a host of kidnapped Earth geniuses (such as Albert Einstein) to power a device that will harness a Strange Matter asteroid orbiting the planet. The Rani’s goal is to produce a rare cosmic substance, but this plan will cause a supernova event that inevitably results in the extermination of all Lakertyan life. The Doctor and his companion, Mel, join forces with the resistant Lakertyan Ikona and their collaborating leader, Beyus, who ultimately makes a fatal sacrifice to ensure the Rani's cataclysmic scheme is thwarted.
